Tabard Square
Tabard Square provides affordable and private accommodation in London SE1.
Berkeley Homes is the developer and the total scheme comprises 567 homes with 50,000 sq ft commercial space.
It is a Housing Gap Funding project where English Partnerships has provided £4.20m. This has enabled 212 affordable dwellings to be delivered on the development including 89 low cost homes for London key workers, 44 shared ownership and 79 for rent.
English Partnerships funding has enabled the project delivery to be accelerated by one year and has facilitated 49 additional affordable homes in a key London regeneration area.
Tabard Square is one example of English Partnerships commitment to developing innovative funding mechanisms such as Housing Gap Funding, London-Wide Initiative and First-Time Buyers' Initiative to address the needs for affordable housing for key workers and others priced out of the housing market.
The scheme was completed in November 2006.
