Current Projects
English Partnerships is currently involved in the following projects in and around Northampton:
Upton
A detailed masterplan for a new housing development at Upton was granted planning consent by Northampton Borough Council in early 2003. The scheme, which will form a sustainable urban extension to the town, will include up to 1,400 new homes along with a range of facilities including a primary school, neighbourhood shops, country park and local centre.
Northampton Brownfield Initiative (NBI)
In September 2002, English Partnerships and Northampton Borough Council signed a joint initiative to secure the regeneration of brownfield land located mainly in the Nene River Valley area of Northampton. Within the corridor, three primary sites known as Sixfields, Harvey Reeves Road and Ransome Road, totalling an area of about 97 ha, were selected as the focus of the first phase of joint working.
The joint initiative is complementary to Northamptons urban extension programme and is intended to provide additional brownfield housing and employment land to contribute to Northamptons growth.
Sandy Lane Relief Road/Upton Lodge
This road is required to serve development within the South West District. Funding was secured from the Community Infrastructure Fund. The road crosses English Partnerships' land within Northampton Borough Council's area and passes into South Northamptonshire Council's area.
Upton Lodge forms part of the South West District and includes land in both Boroughs. It will be a new mixed use community consisting of 2000 - 2600 homes, including affordable, employment, primary school, community facilities, Park and Ride and a Country Park.
